Hi fellow poultry lovers, we thought we should let you know we are all ok. We had some minor flooding in the bottom paddocks and fence damage on property1 but that's it. We were defiantly one of the lucky ones. Our hearts go out to all those affected by the floods especially Somerset Region and Lockyer Valley a true tragedy. We would like to thank everyone that has emailed us with best wishes and concerns about us and our birds, we have not had the time to answer all the emails and Chelsea will send you an acknowledgment when she can, to date we have had 366 emails of well wishes so very humbling. Our breeding season is still in progress so we have no final tally but it’s on track for similar results as 09 and that is a very good result in light of the weather from September to January :roll:

The peafowl have coped well although we closed the roofs so they didn’t experience the long term rain but the lower than normal temps could have affected them as in the past. Although we are down on expected numbers for the 2010 season we will again breed more peafowl in any species, colour or mutation than any other breeder in Australia so we should have surplus to for fill the big demand we have, especially for Java's and our unique P.A line of blue pieds and reverse blue pieds but they need to grow through first, so we may advertise on the forum ONLY a few in July/August? So be quick as they go very, very fast! The pheasant have also copped well and breeding is still underway with some very interesting results this season

So good to know you and all your fowls are ok PA we have all been so worried. I can't wait for July now I am desperate for some of your blue pieds so I will be on standby to click the quickest! Thanks for letting us all know your ok such a relief [smilie=a_cookiemonster.gif]

BIG sigh of relief I was starting to get a bit more than a little worried very pleased you were not too badly affected by all the flooding and you peafowl and pheasant went on business as usual. Must be an amazing feeling to have a smaller breeding season than you expect but still breed more than anyone else in Australia, wow makes us small time breeders even smaller, cannot wait to read about your final breeding result

Even though I have spoken to you on the phone I will say it was as everyone has said a big relief you didnot have much damage or any losses at all so someones looking after you mate. Its good our no1 pea man is gunhoe with breeding still, you really are a living legend my friend
