A photo is attached of the mutation in question and we would be interested in
hearing from anybody that may also have birds that are similar or maybe a little
different also. Any other information on this particular mutation would also be
appreciated. With so many mutations occurring overseas it is unusual & dissapointing
for so few to be bred and established in Australia.
It would be good for this thread to also include photos so that the thread has not
only interesting information but also a visual guide as to the differences in appearance.
I am sure there must be other mutations being developed here in Australia.
Hope this thread draws some interesting conversation and photos on peacock
mutations in Australia.

Edited to remove false or misleading Information

I like some of the mutations around like whites and pieds and the java pieds of PA are nothing short of spectacular, everyone would love to have them ;) its a shame that peacock is just all grey and doesn't have the nice colours a peacock should have, not my cupa tea, oh well as long as you like it :-D

PA, are those pics of your mutations or are you just sharing pics of mutations??? "Magnificus," we have spoken before and I am very impressed with your mutation, didn't know you had that. Have I sent you a pic of our one with the coloured shoulders??? I think I have. He has black thighs and is darker really all over. I know we are just too far away from each other to exchange.... maybe we can do eggs??? Apparently in the book by Danny Brown there is a pic of an interesting mutation.

Cheers, Pam

Hi Pam, Yes we have spoken, You were most informative and very helpful. I don't think you did send me a photograph of your unusual bird. Would it be possible for you to post it on this thread so that we can discuss it. Have you looked into identifying it yet or is it something that has already been named overseas? Have you bred your mutation on yet?
we will be mating them to pied hens this year as well as normal hens and also we have one coloured hen the same as the cocks. We have no idea how this mutation is inherited as it is not documented to be overseas yet so we will be having a lot of fun this year I would imagine.I am actually excited at the prospect of a loud pied with blue grey black feathers. HMMM the mouth is watering, something like looking at the reverse pied Javas.
PA with your reverse pieds is this pied an allele of white such as the loud pieds of our normals? Have you combined white also with these or is it just the pied gene alone? Did this mutation occur from the Javas or has this developed from breeding back from our blues? Sooo many questions.....

Those photos are indeed different and they birds are BEAUTIFUL.

I would count myself blessed to have any of those 'mutations' resident on my farm.

What would be the $$$ cost of purchasing something this different and spectacular.

Open to helpful suggestions for what this is, see attached photos.

Wondering about white on the chest. It does not have white flight feathers. Different bloodline and unrelated to "Unusual Australian Mutation Peacocks" pictured earlier in this thread.
