Siamese fire back pheasants

Hi, I have been given some information from a friend in Mackay North Queensland who has had fire backs. He told me of a pheasant breeder on the foot hills of the Bunya Mountains north west of Brisbane who has fire backs. He said he purchased some pheasants from this person 2years ago and can't recall his name. He did say this person had a general store with bird cages at the rear with pheasants and another property not far away where he was going to build a bigger breeding setup. This person may have a spare cock bird. Does anyone west of Brisbane know this person.

Any information would be appreciated.

G'day Jason , Nice to talk with you , I've spent over twenty years roaming the foothills of the bunya's , and I know most of the breeders in the area , So I'll talk to a few people up here and see if anyone can help . Good luck in your quest for the Fireback

Well I started asking around , so far lots of maybe's but I don't give up easy

So I'll keep searching for you , The bunyas are big but not that big :lol:

Hi Ian, thanks very much for your helping hand in helping to find this person. I was talking to Jimmy in Mackay on the phone, trying to prompt his memory. He told me he left from the Caboolture area and headed out to this fellas place - he drove past the bunya mountains turn off and kept going along the road and came across a little shop on its own. He said you couldn't miss it - his wife comfirmed this too. He had pheasants out the back of the shop in pens which Jimmy purchased some of and he said he had some fire backs there as well. Jimmy has had fire backs before so he wouldn't confuse them with any other pheasant.

Any luck? asked a few mates that have pheasants but non new of the bloke at bunya mountains.

Find it hard to believe people are breeding them and can't come up with a male bird for you . :-?

young fire backs on this website only to forum members for first preferance,if so i will put my hand up for a cock bird or two as im not having much luck.

I would even swap one of my young hens for a Fireback cock bird.This may help someone out with new blood.
