There is no source flock left in here in the UK, a few managed to find new homes and were sold on to raise monies I guess to cover some of the costs.

An ARPIS 2 project could work, but better as a "pilot" project on a much smaller scale, and it would probably help with one of the UK breeders or the PCGB ( poultry club of GB) were involved. There has been concern here over the management of the source flock and how they were kept and disposed of when no longer useful.

I am currently undergoing testing of my flock for exporting to the US (from the UK) and now run a closed flock to ensure the bio-security of my birds. Would be happy to look into the potential export of my bird to Australia if it was feasible.

I think you are right the PCGB would have been a significant help and I am surprised they were not involved from the start. I have heard talk about the "source fowl" and yes how they were managed and kept and how little they did fetch when sold

It was handled badly from start to death and all the parts in the middle. Fighting the destruction order was a complete waste of money and nothing came out of that other than they were still put down just a few days later and lots more $$$$$$ later. What a complete stuff up!

With only a few sold were the rest put down?
