Hi, Kellie wave.gif ,

congt334 on your new Araucana babies [smilie=a_cookiemonster.gif] [smilie=a_withstupid.gif] [smilie=a_cookiemonster.gif]

The girls are generally more pretty than the cockerels at 6-8 weeks old with the males having more red around their face, they are also larger and bolder than the girls. Posting a photo of Thing 1 and Thing 2 at 7 weeks the last time I saw them both their sexes were confirmed by the bushfire people they were donated to.

PHOTOS of them PLEASE. Thank you, kindly 52.gif

Thanks for that great advice a_bravo.gif [smilie=a_goodjobson.gif] a_bravo.gif

File comment: Thing 1 renamed Henry is in the foreground, he had a more red face.

Thing 2 renamed Henrietta is prettier and less dominant in the background and less redder around her face.

Here is a photo of The Lavender Gang at a similar age and they were all cockerels.

Here are the photo's of my new babies. I have found out that unfortunately I don't have a lavender aracana, but the platinum colour of the Sussex is really close, so I am happy. One of the babies has the coolest afro I have ever seen, and another splash colour has a lavender head. enjoy.
P.S I think all the aracana's are females as the combs are pale, and not red at all. Fingers crossed.

congt334 Kellie,

Love the afro chookie, what breed is she? Is that your mum decapitated?

sidesplit.gif tee hee, It is my mum decapitated. She was too embarrassed to have her face showing. The cool chick with the afro is a splash aracana, and she has splodges of different shades of grey over her with a white base colour. The dark grey chick is a blue aracana and she is another favorite of mine. Mum had to hold them for photo's because they are a touch nuts at the moment as they haven't quietened down yet. The only chick I am a little unsure about is the solid black one. I think it is meant to be blue, but has ended up black. Still cute.

Didn't your mum, model before with some chookies in a previous thread?

congt334 Kellie,

Thank you, kindly 52.gif for posting the photos of your new babies and your poor headless mum.

The are gorgeous, especially the porcelain afro chookie! The last chookie looks like a Lavender Araucana, very pretty.

Can't wait to see more photos!

This is Mr. McGregor's veggie garden. Nothing gets in or out other than Mr. & Mrs. McGregor. Mr. Rooster had started to dig his way under when he was still here. Well the girls found the tunnel he started and got through to the other side...The problem was they didn't know how to get back

It seems that the grass is always greener on the other side...
