And if you don't do any good with him, there is a fellow at Castlereagh, (on Castlereagh Rd) that I bought my first peacocks from that could possibly help out.
His name is Ray Lawrence.

Hello, I have one peacock with no peahens he is just left free to roam, he has never ran away and has already lived here for one breeding season and he is about 3 years old (i must just be lucky :?:

)..why hasent he ran away?

Hi PA, just wondering, if you were to have just one peacock and one peahen (no other peacocks etc to compete with) is it ok to have a pair, or is it still better to have the trio?

Hi Alice, yes you can, bit it is better to have a ratio of 2 to 1.

The first time a purchased 2 peacocks the woman told me to keep them in for 2 weeks then let them out and they would hang around, she was adamant they would stay guaranteed. Well I took her advice and to my horror they took off, so I rang the woman and told her I followed her instructions and basically she said tuff bickies and offered to sell me 1 more my reply was ' you can ############### you ############## this time I followed pa's article and its now been 3 weeks since I let them out and they are still here. You’re a legend mate!

So true rome, there are so few peafowl sites that are Australian and even less that have information, the only one I found like you was peacocks Australia the others were just parrot breeders dabbling in peafowl or for sale sites just to make money. At least Australia has one specialist we can all turn to for help and knowledge, thank you peacocks Australia.
