Trying to ID our birds and thin shells

Hi everyone.
I'm trying to ID our hens and Rooster, but can't for the life of me work this site out. It's very convoluted.
Can some one please advise how to post photos here?
I have checked the help and posting photos advice, but still of no use to me.

Also, the shells on our chooks eggs can be fairly thin at times. How do I increase their calcium intake (if that's the answer).

HI Baytown,

Your photo sizes maybe to large to upload. Check the size in the instructions on how to upload photos. Admin can help here in the problems section.

As far as your thin eggs shells make sure your birds have 24/7 access to shell grit. Putting a calcium supplement in the water for a couple of weeks while waiting for the calcium in the shell grit to kick in also helps.

The Forums and the Photo Gallery are two separate things. You need to contact admin to set up an account in the Photo Gallery.

I understand your confusion, but I'm confident Admin never intended for it to be that way. The links above to the Photo Gallery, Online Auctions, etc are there as quick links to those things.

Once you have your Photo Gallery account set up, you can then upload photos, subject to size restrictions, etc which County Lodge has already mentioned.

After that...you're on your own mate.

Most of my photos are kept on my own site and I link to them from there. It's quick and easy for me. I upload the photo to my server, I know where it is, I link to it right away in whatever I'm writing on APF. I don't have to wait for photo approval first. Works for me, because I'd forget to come back and provide the location for people to view whatever I was talking about.

The advantage of having your photos in the APF Photo Gallery is that once they're there, they're there. You don't need to update links if your web host or domain changes. (Which is what I'd have to do if after ten years I suddenly decided not to renew greenaus.com and had to find somewhere else to put my photos. There'd be lots of broken image links on APF and admin would hunt me down). ;-)

I was talking about the explanation that I was about to write...which obviously ended up being a little less basic than I intended...as usual.

Well if you's ask me which your not asking me but anyway I thought you both done a good explaination.

Oh and with the egg shells, another thing my sister silkiehaven taught me is to put the egg shells from used eggs on a tray and bake them, crush them up and feed them back to the chookies.

Thanks for the info everyone.
Hope I'm not being inflammatory, but I'm on a few web groups,and this one is by far the hardest to navigate or use (not the people, just the hosting software layout, restrictions etc). I know once I'm use to the software everything should be ok.
Re the photos, they weren't too big, I just couldn't find any attachment radio button or get the HTML code to work.

Thanks for the info re the shell problems. I will look into with with the rural supply place tomorrow. Might get some prices on increasing the flock as well.
I made the mistake of placing a fresh egg in my pocket this morning and doing some work on the property. All was fine till I bent over, then there was a raw omelet in my pocket! I won't do that again!

hahahahaha i did that last week, except i was playing with my dog and unfortunately rolled over onto my pocket containing the egg :oops:

Still on the topic of thin shells , :lol:

and I think I can top that one . My dad drove his car into a tree trying to save a dozen eggs , It was a narrow winding dirt driveway about 3 kms from where we live now , He was driving down the drive and the eggs were on the passenger seat , The eggs tumbled forward and when he went to save them , He ended up down the emankment in the scrub in the old corona . All Eggs were saved and delivered safely :lol:

once the car was retrieved :lol:
