by holding them both behind the bird
i think its more for ducks

Well , My preffered method is Left arm under the body from the front with both feet in the same hand , this leaves the Right hand free and on top doing the patting / reassuring thing , Any chook that is comfortable being held upside down by the legs , or by the wings :cry:

hasn't had much of an upbringing as far as I'm concerned , You can carry a bird quite comfortably ( for both parties) in your left arm , and still give them a hug as HH says , I have seen chooks carried six in each hand upside down whilst moving pens in a barn farm , and I'm sure the chooks would rather travel right way up , as would I , heads up feet down , Ian

with chickens and peafowl i hold them like happy hens and ian said, but with pheasants i hold underneath the wings so they can't flap there wings and i hold there legs as well so they don't kick because they are very strong.

hi guys .
with my muscovys thay are very quiet . but once you go to handle them thay are very strong . i try and lift my mussies by holding the wings down and then lifting with my arm under the bird and holding the bird in 1 arm with the other arm covering the bird . taking them out of a show pen can be fun as soon as you try to move them thay fight you all the way :lol:

but you have to love them there a great breed
