So thanks everyone, its really interesting to here everyones responces.. I appreciate them 
you should see them, there must have been at the least 15 of them, they are all nesting on top of a really steep rock face, i have never seen chickens fly like they were, they were flying through the tops of the trees like birds (i know they are birds) my thoughts are that they have been dumped and are breeding like crazy, there were some really nice looking ones but a little hard to get to, i saw probably about 4 or 5 roo's possibly more. I'm going to try my luck with the rspc a on monday and see how i go.. Fingers crossed.. I just can't believe people dump them like that.
