How young will a chook go clucky?

Great photos Chicka Dee,

So sorry another has been pushed aside as this little one was well on its way.

Broodies are so clever. I wonder how they know that something isn't right with the foetus.

Good luck with the rest of the clutch.

I know those photos are kinda gross but they at least show everyone what stage the chicken is at around day 10 :-D

Clara was off the nest today for a little while, she was not impressed with me when I tried to grab her for a cuddle, she fluffed up and pecked me about 20 times fast, but not hard, just a warning to say "stay away". Then she jumped back on the nest all cranky :lol:

Well, we have just over a week to go before hopefully babies start popping out of their shell.

Keep your fingers crossed she doesn't kick any more off. [smilie=a_goodjobson.gif]

Tuesday is D-Day, or should I call it C-Day for Chicken Day.

I really hope my girl gets some babies out of this as I would hate to see all of her hard work/effort to be for nought :neutral:

guessing the two eggs that did get pushed out were the two Isa eggs, I have been told that Isa Brown eggs don't hatch

I've never heard that about Isa eggs. I hope it's not true. I've got Isa eggs in my incubator :shock:

No, the eggs were Clara eggs. I saved up 12 of her eggs & put them under her which is why I'm hoping for some, as the earliest lot would have been 2 weeks old by the time I put them under her so we may be needing a miracle here.

But she's sitting steady so I'm hoping that's a positive sign :-D

Not possible this time around barnsey as she's sitting on her own eggs which are little creamy white coloured Speckled Sussex eggs.

Actually I candled 4 yesterday & the results were not good

2 out if the 4 were clear so I am not expecting a very good strike rate but I wasn't anyway due to some of the eggs being up to 2 weeks old, but at least the other 2 had something in them so fingers crossed they hatch out over the next 24 hours so she has something for her hard earned efforts.
