How many eggs do you get per day?

Regardless of how many chooks you have...How many eggs do you get each day?

I got 7 today but I reckon I average six in recent days.

My sussex are laying like crazy. Now I have one gone broody. My silkies are hard at it as are my cuckoo pekins and misc coloured pekins. The only slackers at present are the lavenders. Both the lav girl and the recess lav girl both went broody and the 2 new pullets haven't started to lay yet.

Well I got 8 today but only because the araucana pullet decided to lay too
The xbreed girls are laying one light sussex is laying as is one silkie the older hen has gone broody on whatever eggs she could pinch :-D

but I guess 6 is average per day if the other 10 don't start soon they'll lose their heads :shock:

we get about 3-4 eggs a day, but only a few are laying and the rest are being lazy :-?

For some people, it is better if they're not all laying. ;-)

I already have too many eggs to handle. Fortunately, the 6-7 I get now should be the max for a bit.

The 20 week old bantam X pullets are probably several weeks away from laying.

Does anyone know if the BIG 13-14 week old pullets will lay early due to their fast growth? Like 20 weeks instead of 25+. They are the RIRs, RIR/Commercial Xs, Brahma, and Brahma/Campine Xs.

Once all those are old enough and laying we would get another 10 eggs a day even if they only laid every second day.

We're having a hard time getting through 40+ eggs a week. What will I do when we have 100+?

Currently, I give at least three dozen eggs away to friends each week. It looks like I'll have a four dozen this week to distribute.

I'll probably take at least a dozen Australorp eggs to Chad and Lori's tomorrow.

You could boil them up and feed them back to the chooks to give them a boost of protien if you have too many to get rid of. Quiche every day for the kids lunch sounds good too save on bread. There's a doz a quiche for a good sized quiche.

I think I used 17 in my last quiche, but that included a mixture of large and bantam eggs. Then, I had to split it in to two pans, so I guess I put 8.5 in each.

i generally get 1-3, and i long for the day when i get 6 (one from everyone) how ever i think Ginger will never lay again she did her time and now is retired.

atm i am getting 0

I think its best to get more than less for me so then when we set the eggs in the incubator there isn't much of an age difference of the eggs when we set them. And as Rosemarie pointed out they are good to boil them and give to the chookies :-D

and don't forget some for breaky.

I got 14 today....and still more to come on the lay.

Eggs in EVERY pen bar 1 (lousy d'Watermael pr...other pr are laying).

Am feeling very chuffed today with the efforts of my girls.
