Good to have you join us Guineaboy good to see you actually breed them and know first hand what you are talking about. 5 hens bred to dad will get you on your way well done. You can use an unrelated split male of your sex linked cinnamon hens to get some new blood. If you need a new split let me know

I am yet to breed mine but I will let you know how they go. I can tell you the breeder I got them off told me they are sexlink breeding if that helps you guys

Hi GuineasofPerth, if the seller made the "mistake" of selling you "split" hens, then is it possible that he sold you "split" males as well??

Hi Riverlook Poultry, I think you may have read it wrong they were advertised as split males and split females and if I bred them together I would of course get around 50% cinnamons but 2 years later and 69 chicks later and no cinnamons at all and with breeding split male to split female I should get around 50% . I believe the males are split but the females are not that's for sure. I think if I had bred more say 80 or so I may have got 1 or 2 females because the odd go up with the sex linked.

I Hope that explained it I don't know all the right terms used but I am learning

no no i think i understand, maybe i should word it better... um..... is it a possibility that the males you bought off him are not split??
