There's no luck in hard work & sweat that goes into making such a great place for our little feathered loved ones PP.

The luck lies with our feathered friends who are cared for by such wonderful people on this forum. As we all know they coud be stuck in cages the size of an A4 piece of paper.

Oh yes D, extremely addictive and never ending additions. I wonder if I will ever stop building?

Your girls have beautiful accommodation. I love the idea of the bi fold doors with the little spying/ventilation holes.

You still have to be lucky to be able to have someone who CAN ACTUALLY BUILD THINGS!!!

Caged hens should be banned here on the mainland as in Tasmania!

PP it is actually the third one hubby has built this year as first two were user unfriendly and the pigeons were dreadful but i finally nagged so much I got this one....lucky part for me is six eggs from six ladies .... happy_duck

I did when we had our first pen......"owe I just hurt myself on that wire sticking out"..."when are you going to build me a new pen".......Next Day (pooring rain).."the girls look so miserable that they can't get out of that small enclosure"...."they really need a bigger pen", and it just goes on and on and on like that [smilie=a_rolling.gif]

Ah the nag, yes it is a time honoured tradition amongst women that just never seems to fail. No matter how much the hubby-D's of the world complain about our nagging, it just seems to get results

I also threw in a "but I'll help you build it too", but when it came time he just kept telling me to "go away" (actually it wasn't as polite as that), but you get the drift!

Ditto all of the above.....most visitors said Pen 1 then Pen 2 were just adorable but all I could see was the lack of cover from sun and rain, nowhere for bantams to escape the three wicked sisters and nowhere to pretend to be invisible...now they have all that....and as I promised wholeheartedly to keep them locked up and not to pooh on the pavers....Pen 3 was born...(I lied about the lock up rule) but he is used to that.

I need to wash the three mean girls again as they are bullying again but not as bad as before...

The game hen pinches through the side fence posts so has free range rights 24/7.. But the goanna should be around soon so must be careful...my beautiful Staffy, Ivy, protects them wonderfully but I taught her to chase them gently off the porch and she started sitting on them so that was not a good look...she never harms them though. And my cats sleep in the nests so new pen stops that too...

We could never be bored with chooks hey? [smilie=a_chuckle.gif]

Its funny how we are never quite satisfied with our coops, my friend has done 2 extensions in 12 months and now wants to do another
