blue fowl in the trading post for $300

I saw an advert for a pair of blue fowl in the trading post for $300 the pair in oakville near Windsor NSW but I think they maybe way too expensive? I am not sure if I should ring them and ask if it’s a misprint or not. My worry is they are like me and only new to peafowl and maybe they paid too much originally so they may get upset knowing that. I live fairly close so I wouldn't mind making an offer but my husband said to offer $100 the pair what do you pea experts think?

I would probably offer them $150-$175 as this is a much more reasonable price.

I had a look at what i think is the post you are looking at and what i think you are calling blue fowl are actually India Blue Peafowl mutations if this is the case then $300 a pair is very reasonable even cheap. The breeder is very capable and very well experienced.
This is of corse if we are talking about the same add

PeaBreeder, just check out the for sale section on the forum they turn up there all the time or farmstock http://www.farmstock.com.au/Classifieds/Poultry/Sale/ I wouldn't pay anymore than $150 a pair

Up here Blue males bring around $120 - $150 and Blue females bring around $60-$100 , thats for healthy mature birds . Prices do vary . You wouldn't raise one to breeding age for that price ,So it depends how you want to look at it . If you you bred 6 chicks from them the first season and sold them at $40 ea ,you've almost recovered your costs

I'd offer them $200 the pair :mrgreen:

Ive had a talk with some people and these peacocks advertised for sale are a healthy, breeding pair of great quality birds, so $300 is a good price for the two, as for my comments above i thought that this was a young pair, not of breeding age

Firstly they are blue PEAFOWL and you say 'good quality' blues? All blues are good quality but if I go on what your were told by 'some people' then I have a pair of blue PEAFOWL for sale that are 'healthy, breeding pair of super, unbelievable, sensational, no1 quality birds' and I am asking $800 the pair, any takers??? :roll:

That does seem very high you can buy split white blue peafowl from Peacocks Australia for $150 a pair and they have the best peafowl in Australia so I think it must be a misprint
